Afar

There is nothing here,
No Time. No Tear.
Smiles happen,
By Practice I fear.

Often from home
Stories I hear..
Of festive joys
& deaths O'dear!

I know of two worlds.
A day there, is an endless night here.
I dream in both,
asleep in neither.

Sometimes in thrill,
I measure the distance,
in miles and metres.
Either way,
From Home I stay
Afar.
Away.

That's the bitter reality of life. Things that we love the most tend to go away with time..

A related song/kavithe, if you haven't already heard:

Hey Aparna! This is truly nostalgic.. especially of the festive joys and deaths.. we feel like we are in a different world..! and yeah.. my dreams ae filled with my home, the road, the neighbours and people around.. and it is indeed very disturbing.. and I loved the way you have written that we dont sleep in either! Wonderfully composed!:)
